ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a disorder that can have a profoundly negative effect on a child’s life. Proper assessment and diagnosis is crucial to proper treatment of ADHD in kids. Unfortunately, 90% of children are diagnosed after a 10 minute appointment with their pediatrician. This leaves many children misdiagnosed and drives problems around over diagnosis.

I conduct a very stringent assessment over a minimum of 3 sessions in my San Francisco or Menlo Park offices. The assessment process involves the parents, child, and a teacher or school staff. The teacher or school staff can be contacted via phone and are not needed to come to my office.  Once I have completed the assessment, I meet with parents and children to provide treatment recommendations and planning if the child or teen has ADHD. In addition to the therapeutic services that I offer, I also provide referrals for additional supports, such as medication management when appropriate.

I provide comprehensive treatment for children and teenagers with ADHD in both San Francisco and Menlo Park. I work with parents and families to help them learn important skills for minimizing distractions, regulating emotions, managing impulsivity, and increasing organization. I also focus on secondary issues such as shame, anxiety, low self-image, depression, and possible substance abuse. I work with my clients from a place of empathy and understanding, while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Coaching, Family Therapy and individualized treatment plans.
